Trending Theme: USA-North Korea Summit Ends with No Agreement

The second summit between USA President Donald Trump and North Korea Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un ended early and with no signed agreement over North Korean denuclearization. This summit, intended to clarify discrepancies left unresolved from the first meeting, was left largely inconclusive. Reports indicate that no arrangement could be reached due to disagreements over when and how sanctions relief is to be implemented. President Trump has said that Kim Jong-un was requesting the removal of sanctions without the full and verifiable denuclearization of North Korea. Many had also hoped that the meeting would result in a declaration formally ending the Korean War, however no such declaration was signed. For the moment, it appears that North Korea has halted their nuclear weapons testing and hostilities between the two countries remain subdued.
