Trending Theme: US Investigators Probing Boeing and the FAA

Boeing and the FAA have are now being investigated following the crashes of 2 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets within 5 months of each other. US Federal investigators are looking in to the certification process that took place between Boeing and the FAA after it was revealed that Boeing had expedited the development of the new jet in order to compete with the roll-out of Airbus's A320 NEO jets. Additionally, the Transportation Department Inspector General's office is looking into the FAA's decision that extra flight-simulator training would not be required for pilots transitioning from the older generation model to the MAX jet.

Boeing officials indicated that a fix to software linked to at least one of the crashes should be ready within weeks.
