On June 27, 2019, two suicide attacks hit the Tunisian capital of Tunis. The first suicide bomber targeted a police patrol close to the French Embassy on Charles de Gaulle Avenue in the Tunisian capital. The first blast killed one officer and injured three civilians and several security personnel. A second attack came just ten minutes later on a base of the national guard which wounded four security personnel, according to the Interior Ministry. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for either of the attacks. Tunisia has been under a state of emergency since a terrorist attack killed dozens in the country in 2015.
