A series of coordinated bombings in Sri Lanka have killed nearly 300 people and left over 500 wounded. The attacks targeted four hotels in three cities across the country, indicating that the attacks were part of a large-scale, premeditated terrorist strike. These bombings represent the most deadly attack since the end of the country's civil war 10 years ago. Maithripala Sirisena, the Sri Lankan President, has since declared a nationwide state of emergency. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has deployed investigators to assist local authorities with finding those responsible.
