Indian President Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin have signed several agreements amounting to $30 billion in trade which will substantially increase cooperation between the two countries by 2025. The two leaders agreed on deals in the energy, defense, and shipping sectors at an economic forum in Vladivostok, Russia. India, the world’s third-largest oil consumer, is expected to increase the proportion of its use of natural gas to 15%. Also seeking to cut Indian oil imports 10% by 2022, India's top gas importer, Petronet LNG, agreed to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Novatek and invest in the Russian company's future projects.
