USA threatens Turkey with sanctions over pastor detainment

The United States of America has threatened Turkey with economic sanctions over the continued detainment of an American pastor. This is following a decline in the Turkish Lira and has created tensions between the two NATO members. Further factors adding to subsequent tense political engagements would be the hardened personalities of high ranking figures from both the United States and Turkey.
