The Mother of All Wars... and her children

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani yesterday has warned against the United States pursuing hostile policies against Iran and that continuing doing so would be akin to "playing with the tail of the lion". Following which, it was stated that peace with Iran would be the "mother of all peace" and that war with Iran would be the "mother of all wars". Subsequently, United States President Donald Trump via Twitter account @realDonaldTrump tweeted, "To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!" on July 22, 2018 at 11:24 pm.

It should be noted that while the United States maintains significant regional and international influence in addition to a superior conventional military that war with Iran would certainly lead to a likewise security fallout in areas with Iranian influence. Such areas are inclusive of Afghanistan and Iraq.
