
The intensified diplomatic exchange between Canada and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has demonstrated that traditional Western allies may not necessarily provide unconditional or reliable political backing. While it is important to note that tensions are between two countries and do not need to involve other mediators to resolve the exchange, the implications of being unable to criticize regimes for grievances against humanity is striking.
